Make a Change for the Better This Movember with E-Cigarettes

Millions of people and dollars are making a big difference in men’s health. E-cigarettes are helping too.

Mo Bros all over the US are actively growing moustaches this month to support the annual men’s health awareness campaign Movember raising tons of cash for worthy causes too. The campaign, which has been running since 1999, states: “Our fathers, partners, brothers and friends face a health crisis that isn’t being talked about. Men are dying too young. We can’t afford to stay silent.” Its aim is to change the face of men’s health.

The charity — which started in Australia and has since spread around the world, raising hundreds of millions of dollars to fund men’s health programs — focuses on four areas that are often neglected by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. It hopes to slash the number of men dying prematurely by 25% by 2030.

“We know what works for men, and how to find and fund the most innovative research to have both a global and local impact,” the Movember Foundation says. “We’re independent of government funding, so we can challenge the status quo and invest quicker in what works. In 15 years we’ve funded more than 1,200 men’s health projects around the world.”

On the Move in Movember

Movember is not just about growing hair on your upper lip during November — there are other ways to get involved — and women are encouraged to join the campaign too (Mo Sistas). You can show your support and raise money for the four men’s health areas by running or walking 60 kilometres during the month, which sadly is the number of men who commit suicide every hour.

Another option is hosting a “Mo-ment” with friends to raise cash for the charity. This can be as simple as having a dinner party, attending a sporting event or hosting a “Shave Down” where a group of men get together to shave their faces clean at the start of November in preparation for growing a moustache.

The workplace is another popular Movember outlet where companies have competitions to see which male staff can grow the most impressive moustache. Check out the Movember websites in many localised regions of the world where they provide a wealth of information and guidance on hosting events, fundraising opportunities, info on men’s health issues and more. Plus, there are apps to track your moustache journey.

Our Support for Movember

At Electric Tobacconist USA we applaud everyone taking part in Movember, and wish them all the best in their hair-raising adventures! One of the most important things a man can do to improve his health is to stop smoking. Around 37.8 million adults still smoke in the US — despite the enormous health risks — with men smoking more than women. Quitting is far from an easy task and many people fail.

Stubbing out smoking, however, is much easier when you switch to vaping. We’re not just saying that because we’re a leading online vape store — we know it works for millions of people around the world. You get the nicotine you want without the deadly chemicals found in burning tobacco. And there are wild and wonderful flavors to add to the mix too.

Let’s get growing this November and help save men’s lives.

If you’re struggling to give up smoking and don’t know where to turn, consider an e-cigarette starter kit that will finally let you kick that unhealthy habit. They’re simple to use and will give you everything you’re looking for from tobacco, without the harms. Get free and zippy shipping to most US states on orders over $20!
